Personal Qualities in a Good Greeting Card Writer - Do You Have Them?

Being a greeting card writer is a very profitable job, especially when you are employed by big clubs like Hallmark and Blue Mountain. And when you add in the psychic earnings benefits - touching people's lives and in effect enjoying your job - you have a very viable work for you. But do you have these personal qualities?

    Sympathy and Empathy

    Mother To Daughter Poems

These are two very different, yet very related, characteristics. You cannot feel empathy if you have not in effect experienced the situation that produced the feelings of someone else but you can feel condolence even if you have only read about it.

If you are so wrapped up in your own exiguous world, not even all the best Cross pens in the world can make you a good writer of greeting cards, or of other reading materials for that matter. You have to embrace other habitancy and their feelings!

This does not mean that you have to be everything and do everything. Often, you just need to read on various topics to collect varying frames of reference. And if you have active relationships with family and friends, you have a goldmine of emotions just waiting to be tapped and written by Cross pens at your disposal!

    Openness of Heart

This does not mean that you have to be emotionally vulnerable at all times. You have to be able to open your heart to emotions that would have been thought about too "Drama Queen" or too "Hallmark schmaltzy" or "too Forrest Gump foolish" were you in less-creative and less-emotionally animated careers.

You should write from the heart if you want to touch the heart of the readers. This way, you will encourage them to touch their wallets, too. You never concept that your talent with wielding those Cross pens to write sappy poems could lead to plane finances, right?

    Originality and Freshness

There are thousands of greeting card writers in the world. Your traditional and fresh ideas will make you stand out from the crowd, especially when these are witty and smart. And lest you think that you will not be recognized for your work, some clubs do rejoinder authorship of the cards!

These characteristics collect more importance when you understand that you will be writing for a very exiguous range of topics. You will have to write perhaps hundreds of cards all relating to birthdays, Valentine's Day, Christmas Day, and other holidays as well as lovers' quarrels, mother-daughter spats and other all-too-human situations. This brings up the next characteristics, which are perhaps the most important of all.

    Grit and Determination

Not all writers get to have their works published on their maiden effort. Your works might be rejected over and over again, which can be quite disheartening after as your rejection mail piles up.

Nevertheless, you should never give up your writing Cross pens and paper! Instead, you have to keep on writing and writing and writing. As a greeting card writer, you cannot even put writer's block as an excuse because you have to furnish a set quota of cards. Inspiration is good but yield is better.

Of course, you will need writing talent, preferably loads of it. But without these personal qualities, your talent will be wasted.

READD MEE : "there's nobody out there teaching a man to be a real man. theres nobody out there teaching a father how to be a real father, nobody teaching a husband how to be a husband." - snoop dogg; recording artist Some background info about the poem: As mentioned in the video, I wrote it for a poetry book my school published in fall 2008 called "Listen: Poems - Frederick Douglass Highschool Students Speak Out" Had my draft written up in about an hour or two...we were rushing! It was sponsored by Kwame Alexander and Miss Titilayo Ngenwya. Oh and by the way, if you ever get a chance to pick up the book, YOURS TRULY WROTE INFO ON THE BACK OF THE BOOK JACKET LOL (even though kwame changed it around a little). Background info about me and other things... : I was conceived in Jamaica...TMI, i know, lol but thats why i said the seed was "planted in Jamaica" (Im American born, my dads Jamaican.) The poem's metaphor also "stems" from the fact that my moms last name is Rose. So anyways... I got soo mad when I recently decided to talk to my dad about why he left and how he feels now...All he kept saying was "I don't want to dishonor your mother but..blah blah blah" everytime i asked him a question. There's no way he could POSSIBLY "dishonor" my mother by telling me why HE did what HE did. It's sad how some grown men can't even take responsibility for their actions...He kept saying he was young, this and that, bs......im like..UMMMM YOU WAS 30! oO Dont let me leave out the fact ...

    Cinderella 1947 USSR Eng Sub

Cinderella 1947 USSR Eng Sub Tube. Duration : 78.53 Mins.

A Fairytale. Filmed at 1947 at Lenfilm Studio, USSR. I do not own this movie, all rights belongs to their respectful owners. Translation is done for non-Russian speakers. It may have omissions as this was done as a hobby, not a professional involvement. I will not allow comments as I have no intentions to handle someone's bad mood. The actors participating in this movie are legends. I did translate it because it is one of my favourites from my childhood, so I wish to share it. I was feeling down, this project cheered me up. The movie was shot two years after the devastating Second World War, which took some 40 mil. lives in Soviet Union alone (official stat.), not to mention a two years blockade of Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) by nazis, when city's population was literally starved to death. So, this is pretty amazing, I don't think many countries in the world can pull this off. So, I guess it deserves watching. BTW, I can not remember any Hollywood or Disney fairytale, which I would like more, than this. And, again, there is a possibility it was already translated, but I couldn't find it, so I did it just for fun. It may be even voiced-over, because, while living in USA I saw one Soviet cartoon on PBS, which I was quite surprised to see, but it had no credits at the end, so US viewers would never know is was Soviet, or Russian, cartoon. So, anything possible.

Mother To Son: Shared Wisdom From the Heart Overview

Boys are different. Boy, are they different. And so too is the mother-son relationship, whose depth and wonder are captured perfectly in one of the very first pages of MOTHER TO SON: Don’t forget that even as a baby, he will always be looking for your face. It will be this way forever.

Woven out of wisdom, humor, experience, love, charm, and a poetic economy of words, here is one pithy, memorable lesson per page, beginning with the Beginning, and covering toddlerhood, the school years, sports, spirituality and, of course, girls. There are practical matters for first-time mothers of sons: Watch out when you’re changing his diaper. Baby boys shoot straight in the air. The helpful reinforcement of principles: There will be times when the last thing in the world you want to tell him is no. But sometimes you’ll have to. The whimsical yet invaluable suggestion: Have tea with him in the afternoons. Serve cookies. The true voice of experience: He is not a child anymore, but he’s not an adult either. Treating him like either one will lead to disaster. Reminders about the importance of your own values: Treat his father with love and respect. Show your son that being a man is a good thing. And what to do when he’s all grown up and getting ready to leave: Hug him fiercely.

"Demeter" by Carol Ann Duffy (poetry reading) Video Clips. Duration : 1.17 Mins.

Demeter was a Goddess who was in charge of the Seasons and Cereals (because eating Cornflakes is what makes man different from other animals) and a few other less-important things like marriage, life and death. The Romans called her Ceres - but there was only one of her and they soon got tired of hearing that joke. The Romans took over the Greek Gods lock, stock and barrel but they insisted on calling them by completely different names. As if that was going to fool anybody, right? She had daughter called Persephone (pronounced per-SEF-o-knee, not purse-phone) who went off with Hades - the bad guy, not the bad place, and I know that's confusing. They will fall for bad boys, won't they? She claimed that he abducted her while she was out picking flowers and then deflowered her. There are conflicting reports and in some of them witnesses said that they thought they heard her calling out "Rape!" However that was a Latin word that only meant "I don't want to go where you're going" and didn't have any sexual significance back then. www.etymonline.com Let's say Hades had a defence based on Plausible Denial and Reasonable Doubt. Hades was renamed Pluto by the Romans. He's annoyed with Disney for unauthorised usage of that name and he's suing them for misrepresentation and defamation of character. Remember that is has to be "Prosperina and Pluto" or "Persephone and Hades" because it's surprising how many artists mix up their Greek and Latin. You'd think they just wanted an excuse ...

Kakugawa, Frances H. Breaking the Silence: A Caregiver's Voice. Nevada City, California: Willow Valley Press, 2010.

    Mother To Daughter Poems

Despite remarkable achievements of science and technology, the problems of human life and destiny have not ended, nor have the solutions been seriously affected by scientific knowledge. Alzheimer's disease, which currently affects about 10% of habitancy over 65 years of age and 50% of those over 85 years of age, has no cure. As many as 5.3 million Americans are now living with the devastating disease. According to a study, unless new treatments are advanced to decrease the likelihood of Alzheimer's disease, the amount of individuals with Alzheimer's disease in the Usa may rise to 14 million by the end of the year 2050.

Read against this background, Frances Kakugawa's book, a mix of poetry, story and practical guide, is a recognition of the services rendered by professional and voluntary organizations that seek to minimize the pangs of Alzheimer's sufferers as well as the sufferings of their near and dear ones. It pays tribute to caregivers who have been untiringly working for creation of a world without dementia, stroke, or cancer just as it seeks to help them feel the innumerable crises of caregiving.

Breaking the Silence: A Caregiver's Voice merges Frances Kakugawa and her poet-colleagues' various experiences with a broad human perspective, inspiring both mind and heart. The caregivers seek to share their compassionate spirit with a sense of gratitude to all those who help the victims of Alzheimer's disease negotiate their mentally vacant existence. They are not only aware of the sufferers' great loss of brain cells or progressive decline in their potential to think, remember, reason, and imagine, or their language problems and unpredictable behavior, confusion, or loss of sensory processing, but they also know well how the Alzheimer's victims suffer a sort of living death, becoming a mere body stripped of its humanity. They have been seek to caregiving house members of increasingly confused and helpless sufferers themselves often becoming the disease's exasperated and exhausted victims:

" Is she the mom who nurtured me?
Is it the dementia playing havoc with my mind?
Or is this easily my mom? I don't know."

('More Glimpses of a Daughter and Mother')

    and

"I am torn between two needy factions.
Mom unaware, daughter pushing all boundaries
    Both out of control."

    ('The Sandwich')

For Frances Kakugawa, caregiving is a mission even as the memory and image of her Alzheimer's struck mother persists in her life as a "loud presence". She gives voice to many caregivers who are ever worried about their loved ones not even able to carry out the simplest tasks and/or are thoroughly dependent on others for their care. She expresses the very haunting fear of death:

"Is she breathing? Is she alive?
Is she ultimately gone, freeing me once again?
    I continue my sentinel watch."

    ('Unspoken Mornings')

Frances not only articulates their fear but also learns to negotiate it by boldly facing it as part of life. In fact, she turns the metaphor of death as integral to life, be it in the form of "an ache of emptiness", "unfulfilled dreams", or "unlived moments". In her deeper silences, she explores the very meaning of life:

    "A second gust of wind
    Lifts another fistful of ashes.
    Be still and listen."

    ('Song of the Wind')

It is hearing the inner silence, which is something meditative, Biblical, and spiritual. It is awaking to the self, the Holy Spirit, the Divine himself. When the soul peaks into silence, human becomes divine. She sounds earnest and exceptional, seeking harmony with the top ideals, irrespective of chaotic personal experiences. As Setsuko Yoshida says in 'Can I?':

    "Poems by Frances this morning
    Reveal the feelings of 'divine'
    In caregiving."

In fact, as women poets, Frances Kakugawa and her caregiver colleagues (Elaine Okazaki, Linda McCall Nagata, Eugene Mitchell, and others) present a feminine and yet very humane perspective to the dementia-related illnesses. Jason Y. Kimura, Rod Masumoto, and Red Silver, though male poets, demonstrate the 'Prakriti' or 'Yin' aspects in rhythm with other contributing caregivers' sensibility. They variously turn the Alzheimer's into a metaphor for the loss of language, the loss of memory, and the loss of voice. Their poetry, often brief and personal, and rich and insightful, becomes a means to recapitulate the sufferers' loss of feeling, love, dignity, honor, name, and relationship; in short, their isolation, or threat to living itself:

"All my life I have lived
    With crayons in one hand,
    Filling in spaces,
Spaces left by departed lovers, family, friends,
Leaving me crayons smashed against walls
    Creating more grief than art."

    ('Empty Spaces')

They also use the metaphor for challenge to survive, to exist, without fears and anxieties:

    "I am woman,
    Suppressed,
    Dying."

    ('Nissei Woman')

    and

"I am not merely heaven, man and earth
    Rooted by cultural hands.
    Sift those sands. Yes!
    I am free!
I am tossed into the winds.
    I shed my kimonos.
    I spread my legs.
    I am free."

    ('Lesson #3')

    and

    "When I am 88
    I will still be woman,
    Yes!"

    (''When I am 88')

    and

    "I am still here
Help me remain a human being
In this shell of a woman I have become.
In my world of silence, I am still here.
    Oh, I am still here."

    ('Emily Dickinson, I am Somebody')

They change the Alzheimer's into a search for reprogramming the mind, the thought, and the attitude to overcome the irreversible suffering and helplessness. As Frances very feelingly asserts: it is the search for

    "...the same umbilical cord
    That once set me free
Now pulls and tugs me back
    To where I had begun.
    There must be hidden
    Somewhere a gift very divine
    In this journey back."

('Mother Into Child, Child Into Mother')

They are true to themselves as they voice their search for the whole. With an empathetic awareness, they disclose their innate goodness, trust, and compassion to make a "symphony of truth." At the core of their musing lies a desire to integrate themselves, to live in time as well as in eternity:

    "What other path is there
    Except the divine
    Where love, kindness, compassion,
Help me seek minuscule pieces of myself
    That make me smile
    Bring me such quiet joy
At the end of each day."

    ('Bless the Divine')

They recapitulate the working of the primal impulses of the human soul which rises above the differences of race and of geographical position. In short, they give vent to the plan of all habitancy in all lands.

As poet-caregivers they cope with their tensions, fears and anxieties through introspection, and accommodate their inner and outer conflicts, sufferings and celebrations through imaginative insight. They mirror the broad group or familial conditions as well as their own personal state with perceptions that are often different from those of the male poets (or male caregivers). Their quest is for real reality vis-à-vis degeneration, privation, insecurity, helplessness, anonymity, and death. They search for life and live with awareness of what lies under the skin of things around, the psycho-spiritual strains, the moral dilemmas, the betrayals, and the paradoxes:

"Why do you say I am sacrificing
    Good years of my life
    For caring for my mother,
When it shouldn't be a secret
    That I am easily living
In a way I have never lived before?
    ...
    No, this is not sacrifice.
    It is just reality.
    I am easily living
In a way I have never lived before.
    I am living love."

    ('What I Know')

Against the complexities of experiences, they demonstrate a sense of values such as love, faith, truth, tolerance, patience, peace, charity, harmony, humility, and healthy relationships. They tend to think intuitively and/or turn personal, inward, spiritward, or Godward, without indulging in intellectual abstraction. They write with poetic sensibility. Their metaphors and images reflect their inner scenery as much as their responses to what they seek or feel externally. They are often reticent and honest in their verbal expression, and their inner vibrations touch or elevate the readers' senses. As they originate discourse of themselves as caregivers, they also sound committed to their home, family, children, motherhood, and neighborhood, often voicing their own foresight and understanding which cuts across cultures and regions.

They seek to transcend their body or femininity and respect the woman in themselves, even if affected by the Alzheimer's environment. They turn inside out and recapitulate what is personal yet universal in their different roles as mother, wife, daughter, and feel the agony of the spirit while trying to know "Who I am?", or "How I should live, who I should be", or "What am I seeing for? Why did I come?"

As they look back or reflect their present, they also voice the need for strong sense of togetherness vis-à-vis their inner conflicts, spiritual hunger, loneliness, or dependence. They sound inspiring the Alzheimer's itself:

"You could not rob us, though we forgot.
You could not erase us, though we could not write.
You could not silence, though we could not speak.
The stories, the laughter, the moments that passed
Into their keep, you could not steal
    Into a night of silence."

    ('Hey Alzheimer's')

As they fill one with hope for ageing with grace and dignity despite the challenges of loss, they originate an alternative motive and impulse for group action at a very personal level:

    "Through this deepest darkened night
    I will hold the light
To take away all your fears.
Just know I will all the time be near."

    ('To My Mother')

There is an urge for changing the situation for themselves, or for being in peace with oneself. The poets and caregivers of Breaking the Silence seek to originate a new culture as they rationalize how we ought to live in future.

    College Bound Shortcuts

I have a good friend who told me when his first daughter moved away to college last year, he had a strong inclination to pack up his house and relocate the entire family to her college town. I understand the pull. There is always a duplicitous role we play as parents. We strive to make our children independent and courageous and sure sufficient to thrive in this high pressure, chew you up and spit you out world - on the one hand. Yet an undercurrent stays with us as long as we are parents. We want to rush in, to rescue, to restore and resolve. It all stems from running into their room from the age of toddler hood, to show them that there no ifs ands or buts were no monsters hiding under the bed.

And now, 18 years later, this woman child or man child that you have been running alongside for roughly 2 decades, not quite sure if the training wheels would hold - this man is ready to leave the nest and stake the claim. Parents - how will you deal with it?

    Mother To Daughter Poems

Let me preface my list by first stating the obvious. You must go straight through this - there is no cut card, no way out. The dignity of it all is that you get to pick your attitude while the journey. That is the major recovery grace. So, here is the list:

    1.  Mental and Emotional Preparation. This new stage of life is one that can be designed by you, to some extent. Before the first suitcase is packed, you can resolve to focus. Focus on two things:  the memories that were formed while the childhood years and the great opportunities that await your child just on the other side of the door. In focusing on the positives and the possibilities, you are according with life that this is a Good thing and you are selecting to agree with your child to make the best of it.

    2.  Spiritual Preparation.  This is your opportunity to thank God for the safety of the journey thusfar and to cast all of your cares upon Him. If you don't, you can be no ifs ands or buts distraught with worries and fears that you have no ifs ands or buts no operate over. Remember, regardless of where your child is attending school, there is no projection of this world where a prayer cannot reach.

    3. Establishing Methods of Communication.  Weaning is something that is done in stages - it is not a sudden death scenario. That being said, it will be important, particularly in the first semester, to choose a set pattern of connecting with your child. You may opt to talk on the phone a integrate times per week, and send unlimited emails and texts, and even write a letter or two. As much as this 18 year old may request their independence, their is still a big chunk of them that is so intricately woven into your family fabric, that they will not be able to immediately and thoroughly extricate themselves. And that's a good thing.

    4.  New Patterns.  Point out the fun and unique opportunities still available for the children who are still at home. Remember to not let the excitement and the glamour of the transition of the departing student, thoroughly overshadow those left behind. Otherwise you may have a big pail of tears and lingering sentiments to deal with once you leave the new college campus. Just remember, this convert effects the entire family unit, in one way or other - be in tuned to everyone's manner of dealing with it.

    5. Logistics. Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Jc Penny, Apple Store - purchasing these items is no ifs ands or buts the simplest part of the equation - it's just stuff. As a matter of fact, if your pupil is fascinating to other state, you may want to think having the particular store ship the items to the regional store and then you can pick up the items right in that town. That means less things to stuff into your car or a U-Haul. Speaking of which, I recently talked to a college sophomore who told me to tell my daughter - if you are not using something daily or at least weekly, do not bring it - it will just take up space.

The corporeal adjustments are no ifs ands or buts the easier ones to deal with. It is the emotional intangibles that give us more disagreement and indigestion challenges. Kahlil Gibran, in his poem, "On Children", put it this way:

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come straight through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

As much as I want to disagree with him - especially by him being a man, he no ifs ands or buts cannot tell to the life long invisible umbilical cord! As much as I want to disagree with him, I cannot. So, as any good mother would do, I choose to take the high road and make this transition fabulous. We have given her the best for the last 18 years - why stop now?

    Yours Until Time Flies,

Kangulum Pagalum- Nithyanusanthanam; Kovil Tiruvaimozhi 7 (with meaning) Video Clips. Duration : 6.88 Mins.

In these 10 verses, Nammazhwar is yearning for the divine love of Lord Ranganatha of Srirangam, India. The incessant cries, yearning are all from a pure devotee aspiring to enjoy the ultimate bliss of the Lord. This bhava (feeling/emotion/experience) is called Nayaki Bhava (or Sringara Bhava or Madhura Bhava), a spiritual union of the devotee with the Supreme. Very few devotees, the purest of the pure, experience this mood. Notable other examples (that I know) are Chaitanya Mahaprabu, where he assumed the mood of Radha, and Annamacharya (telugu composer saint of the 14th century). Understanding and comprehending this mood is very hard for materialists like us used to thinking in terms of body and flesh. But, you can't easily dismiss these as love poems ie a woman desiring for a man. We have to remember that the person who is experiencing this mood is the same one who has showered vedantic meanings in his verses (see Uyarvara Uyarnalam). So Nammazhwar, blessed with the highest knowledge/wisdom (revealed by the Lord), in spite of not going to any school to even learn Tamil formally (leave alone Vedas) (Nammazhwar was born to a tree-cutter couple, in the shudra varna, but is celebrated as the purest devotee of the Lord by the highest vedanti), is experiencing this mood. Thus, once again, it's the jivAtma yearning to enjoy the paramAtma, rather than anything to do with body and flesh. In these 10 verses, Nammazhwar's (now in the mood of a girl yearning for her love, Lord ...

What Does the Bible Say About Being a Mother?

May is the month that we celebrate mothers on Mother's Day. Ms. Julia Ward and Ms. Anna Jarvis petitioned for this day to honor mother's and was signed by Pres. Woodrow Wilson on May 8, 1914.

Being a mother is a very important role that God chose for us to endure. God decided that Eve would be the first living mother. Genesis 3:20 says, "Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living." So today's mother has a great accountability to do what God has required of us. For Titus 2:4-5 says, "Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be field to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God." This scripture tells us that we must train our children to do what is right in order to please God and corollary his word. Additionally we are to honor and love our husbands in marriage. In the book of 1 Samuel, Hannah and Peninnah were married to Elkanah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah could not. Hannah prayed and prayed to God to have a child. Because God answered her prayer and gave her a son named Samuel, she gave him back to the Lord. And God was able to use him for His purpose and His will. As Christian mothers, we should be giving our children back to God, for His use, because they are gifts to us. For Psalm 127:3 says, "Sons are a inheritance from the Lord, children a bonus from him."

    Mother To Daughter Poems

We must also teach our children about God. This world is evil and sin is all the time around. There are so many negative influences that can lead our children astray. But if we teach our children about God's word, even if they go astray, they will come back to God and the truth. For Ephesians 6:4 says, "Fathers, (and Mothers) do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and schooling of the Lord." By following this scripture, our children will never be lost.

Nurtured by time through the highs and the lows,......The love which is theirs ever deepens and grows.......And both turn more patient as days become years,......Growing older and wiser through gladness and tears.......They cling to each other in times of despair,......Taking comfort in knowing the other one's there.......Providing support with a look or a touch,......It's the littlest things, that to them, mean so much!......Deeply concerned for the ones they hold dear,......They mark birthdays and holidays all through the year.......Building family traditions each step of the way,......Sharing good news and bad, as they go day to day.......They're a mother & daughter, and right from the start,......They were "forever joined" in a place of the heart.......And the lifetime of love which they willingly give,......Will enhance and sustain them as long as they live.......

Discipline is a big part of being a mother. Even though this field is hard to discuss, this is very important in raising children. By disciplining our children, we fear that they will fear us, or hate us, but they should be taught to fear the Lord. Just as we are punished by God when we do wrong, our children must learn that being punished when they do wrong, is a studying caress to do right. Proverbs 13:24 says, "He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is faithful to discipline him." Even though spanking has become a controversial issue, if it's done out of love and instruction, God allows for it to be done as a tool of discipline. Proverbs 29:15-17 also says, "The rod of revising imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother. When the wicked thrive, so does sin, but the righteous will see their downfall. Discipline your son, and he will give you peace; he will bring delight to your soul."

Nurturing our children will supply support, acceptance and unconditional love. We are to be kind, kind and forgiving, just as Christ is to us. (Ephesians 4:32) Ephesians 4:29 also says, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for construction others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." When we talk to our children about their lives or something that they have done wrong, we must be faithful about the words we choose. Using hurtful or demeaning words can hurt our children deeply and perhaps scar their lives. Most hurtful words are said out of anger and Satan uses these times to work through us to corollary our children. But if we think about every word that's said to our children before we say them, then it will benefit rather than hurt. And they will feel approved by us rather then searching for acceptance from the face world.

The bible gives us clear commands of being a mother. From teaching and training to discipline and nurturing. We also should be role models, because our children model what we do, more than what we say. We have to be Christ-like in order to teach our children to be like Christ. Deuteronomy 6:5-9 says, "Love the Lord your God with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gate." If the Lord has blessed you to be a mother, you should take this role seriously. And if we are faithful to do this when they are children, teenagers and early adults, then we will raise productive, loving and God-fearing people.

Sundays in the South: 30 Selected Poems Set to Music Overview

On the deathbed of her beloved mother, Tamara Martin inherited her collected papers and writings. In the terrible grief, pain and sorrow of her death and funeral. they were put aside in a box, which ended up in a dusty attic. Some years later, after a difficult divorce and the joy of meeting and marrying her true soul mate Michael, she again discovered the box of her mother's writing and saw for the first time, a forgotten folder of poems. Thus began Tamara's journey of discovery to full awareness of the creative force that was her mother. Vern's creativity and talent had been buried beneath the weight of bigotry, indifference, ignorance and intolerance for a lifetime.

In this special selection, taken from the book of the same name, you will discover poems of great depth and poignancy contrasted with light funny poems of 'Maw-Maws Magic Gum', 'bees caught in a jar' and 'shirt tails' for a kite written for sons, daughters and grandchildren. There are also poems of universal appeal to all of us about life and its many problems that give new insight into the choices made, pathways taken and their impact on others. There are poems of immense passion and love for family and of the times Tamara and Vernice lived through. In the book there are many more wonderful photographs of friends and family members that provide a fascinating glimpse back to the splendor of pre-war Egan, Eunice, Crowley and Lafayette, Louisiana.

We owed the body and soul to parents
It was true and very much apparent
We had learnt lessons of self sufficiency
Mother worked hard for us not to feel any deficiency

I remember and count essential moments
Mother stood firm and gave no vents
It was her heroic endeavor to keep us under fold
She taught us to be brave and bold

Today when I look back and open the memory
It all moves like movie with all impressions to carry
I move with all the scenes as if it has happened yesterday
It has ended with the nightmare in a day

We were hand to mouth for many days
We could find no respectful way
It required great struggle to survive
We too were determined for qualified drive

It did not break us from within
It was situation like no loss no wins
We had learnt a lot to stand fast
The situation was not to remain same till last

I have vivid memory and painful past
Even though it made us tough to stand fast
It had made us to forget and leave behind
There was to be left no trace to find

Though mother is not with me today
I have not forgotten those days
She was by all means an alert guard
To take us in force and look forward

I have raised great empire with all means
She is there in all the corners and seen
It was her resolute stand that took us out of storm
She was as dedicated as before and fully informed

I shed tears not for being left alone
But her performance to take us out from cyclone
Had she lost her courage and proximity of mind
We would have been no where to find

Though God is great to take us to shore
We pray all those dear ones and adore
We can do nothing for their brave front
Only last glorious moments make us to confront

Saima Khan is a Pakistani actress and mujra dancer. [1]. She has achieved fame in the Lahore district. She has appeared both in movies and on stage. Saima Khan, formerly working as constable of Punjab Police, entered into the world of Pakistan (punjab) stage very silently as actress & dancer. Initially no one took notice of her arrival but later she got fame due to her nudity and bold dances especially after release of her "Dances CD" containing frontal nudity. In one way, she is the founder of such bold performance in CD releases & Pakistan stage as well. After this, many other (new coming) performers did the same way and released the naked dances eg, Ajnuman Shehzadi, Nida Chaudhry.
